Project 7 labels itself a “cause-related company that exists to give”. Through the sale of a wide variety of socially responsible products, from food to candy to clothing, Project 7 supports a number of worthy initiatives including housing the homeless, feeding the hungry and saving the environment, just to name a few. It’s a way for consumers to make a difference through the purchase of everyday items. As the Project 7 website puts it, they’re not asking people to buy more stuff, but rather to change the way they buy. You buy, they give – it’s that simple!
Visitors to the Project 7 website can purchase a number of socially responsible products, including coffee, gum, mints, water and apparel. Each product proudly proclaims the underlying cause it supports so you know exactly what area of need your purchase is making a difference in. Each of these socially responsible products can be purchased online directly from the Project 7 website or at a number of select retail establishments. Project 7 also gives back through various social media platforms. For instance, from April 15th through the 22nd, they pledge to plant a fruit tree for every person who “shares” or “likes” them on Facebook, “follows” and “retweets” them on Twitter or “+’s” them on Google+.
For every purchase of a Project 7 socially responsible product, good is done in one of seven areas of need – Feed the Hungry, Heal the Sick, Hope for Peace, House the Homeless, Quench the Thirsty, Teach them Well and Save the Earth. They partner with a number of non-profits to help provide financial support, as well as raise awareness for each organization and educate about global issues. Project 7 also utilizes the power of social media on a daily basis to tell a new story and inform people of the important issues at hand. With Project 7, doing good just got easier!
